There are two steps to your Havening Training & Certification

First Step

In Person Training
(3 days)

Learn & Practice the theory behind Havening Techniques — while implementing into self care

  • You’ll learn how trauma gets stored in the brain — and how Havening helps release it.

    We explore the science behind AMPA receptors, stress hormones, brainwave states (like high beta and delta), and how Dr. Ronald Ruden developed Havening based on this research.

    Don’t worry — we keep it light and practical. You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of how and why Havening works, so you can confidently share it with clients.

    Bonus: You’ll get access to scientific papers if you want to dive deeper.

  • In this module, you’ll learn how and why we use Havening Touch (on the arms, hands, and face), and how to confidently explain it to your clients — including in settings where touch may not be appropriate or available.

    We’ll cover:

    • Self-Havening — how your clients can use the touch on themselves

    • Consent and safety — when and how to ask permission for touch

    • Online sessions — how to guide clients over Zoom or telehealth

    • Why these specific touch points trigger soothing brainwave states and how they can remove trauma 

    Whether you're working with kids, adults, friends, or in clinical spaces with specific boundaries, you’ll leave with clarity and confidence in adapting Havening Touch.

  • This isn’t just a theory-based course — it’s an immersive, practical and playful experience.

    You’ll get to witness and practice each Havening Technique with fellow trainees during the retreat or in-person training. We’ll guide you step by step through each protocol, so you feel safe, supported and ready for the certification journey (where you’ll gain confidence and comfortability in each protocol)

    During the training you'll have time to:

    • Apply the techniques with a partner

    • Feel what it’s like to receive Havening

    • Observe others practicing in real time

    • Get feedback from trainers and peers

    This is where it clicks — and where most people say “I finally get it!”

    By the end of these 3 days, you’ll be surprised by how confident you feel in using Havening for real-life stress.

  • You won’t just teach your clients how to regulate their nervous system — you’ll live it.

    Throughout the 3-day training, you’ll experience the power of Havening on yourself. You’ll learn specific self-Havening protocols that help reduce anxiety, shift focus, and rewire your mind toward clarity, confidence, and what you want to attract in your life.

    You’ll walk away with:

    • Tools to shift your stress in real time

    • Practices to regulate when triggered by client or loved on

    • Personal techniques for sleep, overwhelm, or self-doubt

    • Share these safely with clients and family

    These aren’t just add-ons — they’re core to how Havening works as a self-healing tool.

    During your certification we’ll set you up with an Evolution Buddy — someone to practice and receive Havening with — so you never have to do this alone.

Certification & Supervision

12 month programme and support to confidently use Havening Techniques within your clinical practice

  • Build confidence working with trauma using safe, step-by-step Havening protocols.

    You’ll learn how to gently guide clients through emotional release — without overwhelm — and feel supported as you practice these tools in real-world settings.

  • We’ll help you bridge the gap between theory and application.

    Learn how to introduce Havening Techniques in 1:1 sessions, workshops, and community spaces — whether you’re a clinician, coach, or facilitator.

    You’ll explore how to tailor Havening to your scope, setting, and clients.

  • You’ll never do this alone.

    Throughout your certification, you’ll join a supportive group of trainees and practitioners —Haven Mavens — pairing up with ‘evolution buddies’ to practice, reflect, and receive Havening for your own healing.

    These connections become your foundation for building confidence and releasing any mental blocks or beliefs that are no longer helpful.

  • Every two weeks, join a live group call to deepen your skills, get support, and stay connected.

    You’ll have access to:

    • Learning Calls – Dive into the protocols, explore clinical applications, and get practical tips to support your practice.

    • Training Calls – A 75-minute guided session to practise a full protocol and write up a case history with support from your Haven Mavens group.

    These sessions help you refine your skills, stay accountable, and keep growing — with a community (and cheerleaders) beside you every step.

    All designed to strengthen your understanding, deepen your embodiment of the work, and help you feel ready to serve others.

  • We go beyond technique. You’ll learn how to hold space in a safe, ethical, and grounded way — with client consent, and trauma-informed foundations at the heart of everything.

    Within this you’ll also become aware of your own nervous system and how to clear stress and freeze states — with havening and our support network.

  • This isn’t just professional training. It’s personal evolution.


    Many trainees say they’ve released more trauma in this process than in years of other experiences.

    You’ll leave with a community who prioritises their own healing and works together to release anything that doesn’t serve you and rewire a new sense of what’s possible — for you and the people you serve.

Note: If you’re certification is not complete by 12 months supervision extensions available.

    We can start with whatever you’re feeling in the moment — anxiety, overwhelm, emotion, or body tension.

    You don’t need a clear story — we have tools to gently work with the feelings, sensations, and stress your system is holding, even if you don’t know where they come from.

    Havening works directly with your nervous system — the part of you that reacts, stores stress, and stays stuck even when you “know better.”
